WHO WE ARE

Logo+JPEG+Black+RGB+02.jpg

Parkour Outreach CIC is a social enterprise that supports parkour communities in Scotland and beyond.

We are a volunteer-led organisation run by 3 directors who are all passionate about parkour and the benefits it can bring to communities. We want to share our combined 30+ years of parkour and non-parkour experience to collaborate with other parkour communities; help to bring ideas to life; create more opportunities for parkour; and promote parkour in a positive light.

As a registered Community Interest Company, any profit we make must legally be invested back in the parkour community. We are always looking for new projects that we can help to support.

Feel free to get in touch if you think we can help!

Gordon tsang

Gordon started parkour in late 2005 in South Yorkshire and moved to Edinburgh for university in 2010.

He has been instrumental in growing the local parkour community - organising jams, events and trips to other cities for a number of years. Gordon founded the Edinburgh Parkour Committee in 2011, founded Access Parkour in 2013, and assisted with setting up the Edinburgh University Parkour Club in 2018.

Gordon has been involved in a number of other parkour organisations outside of Edinburgh over the years. He was elected as the chairman of Roots of Movement, a director at Parkour UK, and a director at Parkour Earth.

He wants to utilise Parkour Outreach as a means to collaborate with other organisations, help other parkour communities, and provide more opportunities to raise awareness of parkour and its benefits to non-parkour organisations.

Gordon has been working full-time as a lawyer at an international law firm since 2016 and specialises in commercial and property litigation.

daniel lumsden

Daniel discovered parkour in 2010 in his hometown of Inverness and has been consistently practising since. He has spent the last few years in Edinburgh developing his skills as a parkour coach and performer.

Daniel has coached regularly with Access Parkour and has also been heavily involved in several non-profit parkour organisations including; Edinburgh Parkour, Roots of Movement and the Edinburgh University Parkour Club.

Earlier this year, Daniel made the decision to travel and explore new parkour communities. He is currently coaching with Melbourne Parkour and looks to bring his experience to a new city and share his insight and love of the practice.

With Parkour Outreach, Daniel hopes to work directly with existing parkour organisations to meet the needs of local and international parkour communities as well as to bring people together, from a variety of backgrounds, to share and appreciate parkour as one. He would like to see parkour being used as a platform to promote both physical and mental well-being.

Outside of parkour, Daniel has a background in acting, music and performance and is an advocate for the vegan movement and the environment.

Nina.jpg

Nina ballantyne

Nina started training parkour in Glasgow around 2005. Although things have occasionally distracted or prevented her from training over the years, she’s never managed to stay away from parkour for long.

Since moving to Edinburgh in 2017, Nina has focused on developing as a parkour coach, and now teaches regular classes when not working full-time as the general manger of a parkour coaching company.

Within Parkour Outreach, Nina wants to:

  • make physical activity more accessible for people who feel excluded from traditional sport because of discrimination and/or cost;

  • promote the positives of parkour to people in power, including governments, schools and the justice system; and

  • harness the skills, strength and enthusiasm of parkour practitioners to benefit their wider community.

Nina’s previous roles include a senior position at a national charity, persuading government at local, Scottish and UK levels to improve social security, employment and housing policy.
